Tips to Use Z-Score Table | NCERT Maths Important Concept

A Z-score table is used to find the percentage of values below a z-score in a standard normal distribution.

First, see how are the negative and positive Z-score tables look like:

Now referring to these values, we will find some z-scores values. So, let’s start with finding the z-score of 0.6.

Refer to the positive z-score table and go to the row for 0.6 that intersects with the column for 0.00; this value is 0.7257.

Now let us see how to find P(Z≥1.35). Since the z-table gives you only “less than” probabilities, so question is like this:

To find the z-score for 1.35, go to the row for 1.3 and that intersects with the column for 0.05.

Further, we need to subtract this value from 1.

Now, find P(–0.6 ≤ Z ≤ 1.1) This can be found as:
