Ray
A line segment that extends endlessly in only one direction is called a Ray.
Note:
A ray contains an infinite number of points. A Ray has only one endpoint.
A line segment is a part of the line. It has two endpoints.

A line segment contains an infinite number of points.

Different Types of Lines in Geometry
There are mainly five types of geometry lines
- Horizontal lines
-
Vertical lines
-
Parallel lines
-
Perpendicular
lines
-
Intersecting lines
Horizontal lines
Horizontal lines are also called "sleeping lines".
A horizontal line is a straight line in a coordinate plane parallel to the x-axis.
Vertical lines
Vertical lines are also known as standing lines.
A vertical line is a straight line that runs from the top to the bottom or from the bottom to the top.
Parallel Lines
Parallel lines are two lines in the same plane that are at the same distance from one another but never meet.
Parallel Lines
Consider the diagram, which shows parallel lines. Lines 'AB' and 'CD' are parallel.
Perpendicular Lines
90° is also known as a right angle and is indicated by a little square between two perpendicular lines.
A perpendicular line is a straight line that intersects another line at 90°.
Intersecting Lines
Note:
The point at which the lines meet each other is known as the point of intersection.
When two or more lines meet at a common point, they are called intersecting lines.
