Learn What Is Factorization Formula With Examples

In Mathematics, factorisation is a method of writing a number into a product of several smaller parts.

Example:

If 15 is written as 3*5, then 3 and 5 are called its Factors. And the method of writing 15 as a product of 3 and 5 is called Factorisation.

Factorisation in Polynomials

It is a method where a polynomial is written as the product of its factors with a degree less than or equal to the original polynomial.

Factorisation is used to simplify expressions, simplify fractions, and solve equations in Algebra.

Some famous basic factorisation formulas are listed below:

Factorisation of common factors

This is a method where we need to take out common factors among each term of an expression.

Example

Factorisation by Regrouping Terms

In this method, we rearrange the like terms of an expression and factorise by taking out the common term.

Factorisation using Identities

We have already listed some famous identities above and we make make use of them while factorising expressions.

Factorisation of Quadratic Equations

Revise these basic formulas regularly and prepare yourself to solve complicated expressions and equations.
