How to Find the Perimeter of a Square With an Example.

The total length that a square's edge covers is defined as its perimeter.

Any closed shape of a geometrical perimeter is calculated by measuring the distance around it.

The perimeter of a square can be calculated by adding all of the sides together. It is four times the length of each side of a square because all four sides are equal.

Perimeter of the square = Sum of the lengths of 4 sides

Example:

Find the perimeter of a square, whose side is 5 cm.

Perimeter of a square using the diagonal:

A square is a regular polygon with equal sides on all sides. In addition, the square's all four angles are equal and measures 90 degrees.

Using Pythagoras' theorem, we get the length of a square's diagonal as follows:

Example:

If the length of the square diagonal is 8 cm, then find the perimeter of a square.
