How to Find Cos 30 Degree Value | NCERT Maths Concept Explanation

To find the value of cosine 60 degrees, we will consider an equilateral triangle divided into halves to get a 30-60-90 right triangle.

Since it is an equilateral triangle, consider the length of the sides is ‘2x’ units. So, when it is divided into halves, the length of the base will be ‘x’ units.

Similarly, you can find cos 60° and cos 90° using the definition of the cosine function and the ‘Pythagoras theorem’.
