If a shape or object can be divided into two identical pieces, it has symmetry. One side of a symmetrical form is the mirror image of the other.

We have a star here that can be folded in half to make two equal parts. A figure's two halves that are folded in half along their symmetry line perfectly match.
Based on its orientation, the line of symmetry can be classified as follows:
- Vertical Line of Symmetry- Horizontal Line of Symmetry- Diagonal Line of Symmetry.
There are four different types of symmetry that can be seen in different situations.
Translational symmetry occurs when an object is transferred from one point to another with the same orientation in both forward and backward motion.
Translational Symmetry:
Rotational symmetry occurs when an object is rotated in a specific direction around a point. When a shape is rotated and the shape remains the same.
Rotational Symmetry:
The angle of rotational symmetry is the smallest angle at which the figure can be rotated to coincide with itself and the order of symmetry coincides with itself while rotating.
Reflexive Symmetry
Reflective symmetry, also called Mirror symmetry, is a type of symmetry where one half of the object reflects the other half of the object.
Glide Symmetry
The combination of translation and reflection transformations is known as Glide symmetry.
A glide reflection is commutative, which means that changing the order of the combinations has no effect on the glide reflection's output.
