Step-By-Step Guide to Find Surface Area of a Hemisphere in 3 Minutes

Let's start with learning what is hemisphere and how it can be formed.

It is a 3-dimensional geometric shape that is half of a sphere. It has one circular flat surface and a curved surface.

The surface area of a 3-dimensional object is the measure of the area of all its faces.

So, the surface area of a hemisphere is the area of a flat circular face plus the area of a curved face.

We know that the total surface area of a sphere is 4π  :

Since , the hemisphere is half of a sphere, the curved surface area of the hemisphere would be half of the surface area of the sphere.
