The natural numbers divisible by “2” are known as even numbers.

The natural numbers which, when divided by 2, leave the remainder 1 are known as “Odd numbers”.

Odd Numbers Definition

The set of even numbers is denoted by the letter ‘E’.

The letter ‘ O’ denotes the set of odd numbers.

The difference between any two consecutive even numbers is ‘2’.

The difference between any two consecutive odd numbers is “2”.

How to Know if a Number is Even ?

The digit in the one's place of even numbers is always 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.

How to Know if a Number is Odd ?

The digit in the one's place of odd numbers is always  1, 3, 5, 7, or 9.

An even number is any natural number, i.e. a positive integer that can be represented in the form of 2K.

An odd number is any natural number represented in the form  (2K + 1), where K is a positive integer.
