Even Numbers Definition: The natural numbers divisible by “2” are known as even numbers.

Odd Numbers

Odd Numbers Definition: The natural numbers which, when divided by 2, leave the remainder 1, are known as “odd numbers”

The set of even numbers is denoted by the letter ‘E’.

The letter ‘O’ denotes the set of odd numbers.

Property

When two even numbers are added together, the result is always an even number

Example: 22 + 2 = 24 (even)

When two odd numbers are added together, the result is always an even number.

Example: 35 + 5 = 40 (even)
