International Tiger Day 2022

International Tiger Day, also known as World Tiger Day, is celebrated every year on 29th July as a way to raise awareness about this magnificent but endangered species.

Global Tiger Day was founded in 2010, when the 13 tiger range countries came together with a goal to double the number of wild tigers by the year 2022.

The 13 tiger range countries include - Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Thailand, and Viet Nam.

As per the 'All India Tiger Estimation Report 2018' India achieved its 2022 target of tiger population in the country 4 years before the deadline with 2,967 tigers.

You too can help in tiger conservation by following forest guidelines when visiting any wilderness area, and say NO to sale of tiger parts or items prepared from tiger derivatives.
