BY Team Aakash Byju's

Square: A square is a flat figure having four sides and angles that are all equal.

Perimeter: – The total length that a square's boundary covers is defined as the perimeter. – A square's perimeter is calculated by summing the lengths of all of its sides.

– The perimeter of a square can be computed by adding all of the sides together. – It is four times the length of each side of a square because all four sides are equal.

Perimeter of Square Formula: – The perimeter of a square can be calculated using the following mathematical formula Perimeter of square,  (P) = 4 × Side

Example: Calculate the perimeter of a square with one side measuring 5 cm.  Sol: Given, side of a square = 5cm

We know that in a square all the sides are equal. so, the perimeter of a square = 4 × (side) = 4 × (5) = 20 cm Therefore Perimeter of a square = 20 cm

Example 2: If the perimeter of the given square is 12 cm. What will be the length of its side? Solution: Given, the perimeter of the square = 12 cm. Let the side length be ‘a’ cm.

We know that The perimeter of a square = 4 × (side) 12 = 4 × (a) a = 3 cm Hence side of a square length = 3 cm.
