How to Calculate Velocity if an Object is Thrown Vertically Upwards?

BY Team Aakash Byju's

For a body with uniformly accelerated motion, we have these equations.

Where v, u, a, t, s are the notations for velocity, initial velocity, acceleration, time and displacement.

When an object is thrown vertically upwards, it moves against the force of gravity of the earth, which acts downwards.

So in the above equations acceleration of the object is replaced by –g.

Suppose an object is thrown vertically upwards with initial velocity v, the equation of motions are as follows. Height h is considered as displacement of the object.

The velocity of the object after 't' seconds can be calculated by using the formula.
