Donkeys have virtually a 360-degree view of their environment according to their eyes' location.
Donkeys also have a layer of tissue behind their retinas called a 'Tapetum lucidum', which reflects light.
This eye positioning provides them with excellent peripheral vision.
Because of their wide field of vision and natural caution they spot anything that worries them.
