The human nervous system coordinates both voluntary and involuntary actions. Both voluntary and involuntary actions are required for the smooth functioning of our bodies.

Voluntary Actions Voluntary actions are the actions that happen under own consciousness.  For example, walking, Dancing, running, etc.

Involuntary actions Involuntary actions are the actions that happen without the consciousness or willingness of a person. Example: Breathing, salivation, blinking of eyelids etc.

Involuntary actions are the set of muscle movements that do not require thinking. But they are under the control of the brain.

- Involuntary actions are not under the control of one’s will. - Involuntary actions take place without the willingness or consciousness of a person.

Involuntary actions are under the control of the spinal cord and medulla oblongata of the hindbrain.

Involuntary actions don’t require thinking. They occur without the involvement of our thoughts.

For example, a football game includes both voluntary and involuntary actions. Whenever the ball moves towards a sportsman suddenly, he kicks the ball, which is an involuntary action.

One more example is when we move out from a dark room, the pupil dilates, which is also an involuntary action.

Generally, involuntary actions are rapid compared to voluntary actions.
