CBSE Class 12 Maths: Differential Equations Important Notes

Differentials Equations for Class 12 Maths teaches the general and particular solutions of differential equations.

The first thing to learn from this chapter is the definition of ‘Differential Equations’ (DE) and ‘Ordinary Differential Equations’.

Know what are the dependent and independent variables. Learn how differential equations are expressed mathematically.

Learn what is the order of differential equations and first, second & the third order differential equations with illustrations for each.

Learn what is a degree of differential equations and first, second & third degree differential equations with illustrations for each.

Study the formation of differential equations. Then study the solution of differential equations.

Don’t skip the ‘General solution of differential equations’ and ‘Particular solution’ or Integral.

Under Methods of solving first order and first degree solutions, the first method has three scenarios. They are:

The second method has 2 types and they are:

– Homogeneous Differential      Equations – Differential Equation      Reducible to Homogeneous      Forms

The third method has 3 types and they are:

– Linear Differential Equations  – Differential Equation      Reducible to the Linear Form – Extended Form of Linear      Equations such as Bernoulli’s      Equation

The last and the fourth method is solving ‘Exact Differential Equation’.

Do not avoid the topic ‘The application of differential equations’.

Hope these notes will help you to score well. Let your friends also go through these points.
