Let's learn about blood groups in this post.
Based on the presence or absence of antigens on the surface of red blood cells and plasma antibodies, the ABO grouping system is divided into four types.
Blood cells with antigen A on their surface and having serum antibodies against B, are classified as the Type A blood group.
A - antigen
Plasma Antibodies (Anti-B)
Blood cells with antigen B are classified as Type B blood group as they have antibodies against antigen A.
B - antigen
Plasma Antibodies (Anti-A)
Red blood cells belonging to the Type O blood group lack antigens, although they do have antibodies against both A and B.
No antigens
Anti-A and Anti-B
Type AB blood group have antigens A and B on their cell surfaces, but there are no antibodies in their serum.
Plasma Antibodies (none)
