Terrain Map

Bacteria

Bacteria are the microorganisms that can be found in rotting matter.

Terrain Map

They are unicellular prokaryotic organisms that have cell walls.

Terrain Map

Bacteria are found in water, soil, air, plants, animals and human beings. Example: Escherichia coli, Lactobacillus.

Terrain Map

Fungi

- Fungi are organisms that are   eukaryotic, achlorophyllous   and saprophytic. – Some fungi are unicellular,   but most are multicellular.

Fungi are found on decaying matter, inside and outside the living creatures. Example: Bread mould, Yeast, Mushrooms.

Terrain Map

Protozoa

Protozoa are organisms that are eukaryotic unicellular organisms.

Terrain Map

Protozoa are found in water and soil. Some protozoans cause diseases in humans. Example: Amoeba, Paramecium.

Terrain Map

Algae are autotrophic organisms that have chlorophyll. Algae are found in water, soil and moist places. Example:  Nostoc, Chlamydomonas.

Virus

Viruses are organisms that have both the characteristics of living and non-living beings.

Terrain Map

– Viruses can replicate only   inside the host organism. – Viruses cause diseases in   plants, animals and human   beings.    Example: HIV, Tobacco    mosaic virus.
