The Symptoms of Thyroid Problems in Males: Explained.

The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped endocrine gland which secretes essential hormones for the functioning of our body.

Thyroid gland:

Thyroid gland secretes important thyroid hormones that involve growth, development and body metabolism.

Excess and low secretion of thyroid hormones cause some problems in infants, men, women and elderly people.

Overactive thyroid gland(hyperthyroidism) can contribute to erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence.

Symptoms of thyroid problems in males:

Erectile dysfunction is the inability to get and keep an erection sufficient for sex.

High levels of thyroid hormone can decrease sperm count.

Hyperthyroidism also causes 'gynecomastia'. It is the condition of male breast enlargement.

Hyperthyroidism also decreases testosterone hormone levels which can create several complications.

Premature baldiang can also be a sign of hyperthyroidism.

Some other common symptoms are weight loss, abnormal heartbeat, nervousness and feeling hot.

Underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) can cause low sexual desire, delayed ejaculation or premature ejaculation.

Some common symptoms of hypothyroidism are weight gain, dry skin, depression and feeling cold.
