Key Differences Between a Shrub and a Tree

Plants are categorized into three types based on their size. These include herbs, shrubs and trees.

Herbs

Small-sized plants with green and tender stems are called herbs.

Shrubs

Some plants produce branches from the base of the stem. These plants are known as shrubs.

Trees

Some plants are very tall and large. These are known as trees.

Shrubs: – These are medium     sized plants. – Stems of these    plants are flexible    and hard.

Differences Between Shrubs and Trees:

These are annual Plants and some are perennial plants.

All branches form from the base of the stem. Example: Oleander, Japanese maple.

    Trees: – These are tall and large    sized plants. – The Stems of these    plants are hard and    woody.

 –These are perennial     plants.  –Branches are formed     from different parts of    the stem.   Example: Mango, neem.
