Explained: Process of Biomagnification and Eutrophication

It occurs when industrial, agricultural and human wastes are thrown into the oceans via rivers, sewers and streams.

Mercury and cadmium are two heavy metals that are biomagnified.

Predatory birds that consume fish, such as kingfishers and loons, become poisoned as a result of biomagnification.

Dont you think we need to take measures to control biomagnification?

Do you know the name of sewage disposal procedure? It is Eutrophication.

Eutrophication occurs as a result of continuous sewage disposal in the water bodies.

Following the death of the algae, aerobic decomposers become active and consume the dissolved oxygen in the water body.

It leads to a decrease in dissolved oxygen levels in the water, which kills aquatic organisms e.g., fish.

What approach do you believe would be ideal to face such a disaster? Share if you come across any.
