Photosynthesis is a photochemical process by which carbohydrates are manufactured from Carbon dioxide and water in the chloroplasts of green plants under the presence of light.
Differences between Photosynthesis and Respiration:
Photosynthesis occurs in the presence of light, but respiration occurs throughout the day.
Photosynthesis occurs in chloroplasts, but respiration occurs in cytoplasm and mitochondria.
Raw materials of photosynthesis are Carbon dioxide and water, but raw materials of respiration are glucose and Oxygen.
During photosynthesis, Oxygen is liberated, and Carbon dioxide is consumed, but Carbon dioxide is released, and Oxygen is consumed during respiration.
During photosynthesis, ATP is produced from light energy, but ATP is produced from glucose molecules during respiration.
