Established in 1851, Gandhi hospital was started initially as an Infirmary of 3 wards, developed into a Cantonment Hospital with 95 beds. It has progressed to King Edward Memorial Hospital in 1913 and has grown into a teaching hospital in 1958 for Gandhi Medical College.
Established in 2012, the college is spread over 150,000 sq ft for both administrative and academic blocks. The institute has a teaching hospital with 300 beds. The college holds 13 different clinical departments and 9 pre and Para -clinical departments.
