The countdown to one of the country’s major entrance examinations, JEE Advanced 2020, has finally begun. The last few days before the exam are very crucial and should be planned properly. This is the time to indulge in exhaustive revisions and rigorous practice. You need to devote your time wholeheartedly to the preparation of the exam, develop a focused attitude and disconnect from social media.

Given below are subject-wise preparation tips for JEE Advanced 2020 that will not only bolster your preparation but also help boost your confidence for the exam.

    PHYSICS

To score in Physics you have to be fast, accurate and smart. Using discretion and picking up the right questions during the exam is very important and should form a part of your exam strategy. Acing Physics in JEE Advanced 2020 requires great conceptual understanding & problem-solving skills. During the last few days before the exam, go through the derivations and most importantly focus on the formulae, definitions and processes.

    IMPORTANT CHAPTERS:

Chapters including System of Particles and Rotational Motion, Current Electricity, Electrical Potential and Capacitance, Ray Optics and Units and Measurement etc. are extremely important. On the other hand, Mechanical Properties of Solids, Magnetism and Matter and Kinetic theory of gases etc are the chapters from which fewer questions are asked.

Additionally, Mechanics constituents 40% weightage in JEE Advanced. You need to practice Mechanics repeatedly and be very good with all the concepts. For Optics, memorizing all the formulas and knowing their right implementation is a must. For Modern Physics, you need to have strong conceptual knowledge.

    CHEMISTRY

Chemistry is considered relatively easy by the JEE aspirants. It is a straightforward subject based only on facts elucidated in the NCERT textbook. To ace Chemistry in JEE Advanced 2020, you should be well-versed with the NCERT textbooks. You should practice all its examples and questions again. Strong knowledge of theory, concepts and chemical equations and reactions can help you to ace the subject with ease. In the remaining days before the exam, practice the chemical equations and problems extensively.

    IMPORTANT CHAPTERS:

Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Bio-molecules, Polymer, Aldehyde Ketone and Carboxylic acids, Equilibrium, Coordinate Compounds, and Qualitative Analysis etc. constitute the major part of the Chemistry paper. On the other hand, General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements and Surface Chemistry etc. have lesser number of questions in the exam.

    MATHEMATICS

Acing Mathematics in JEE Advanced 2020 is all about having exceptional problem-solving skills. You should practice continuously and as much as possible. Besides, you should have in-depth understanding of the derivations. You should understand the rationale behind using the formula. Additionally, while solving questions, use the shortcuts you created during your preparation to save time during the exam.

By now you should be well-acquainted with pattern of a solution to a problem. A typical question often requires a combination of various concepts and their intertwining among themselves. Their analysis will help in strengthening your concepts and imbibing in you the requisite skills.

During the exam, picking up problems based on easy, medium and difficult and attempting them in this order goes a long way in ensuring success as initial success generates confidence and calms down the mind to think more analytically for the remaining more trickier problems.

    IMPORTANT CHAPTERS:

Chapters like 3-Dimensional Geometry, Applications of Derivatives, Limits, Continuity and Differentiability and Matrices and Determinants constitute a higher number of questions in JEE Advanced exam.

    LAST MINUTE TIPS & TRICKS

    • Do not start anything new at this point and revise what you already know. Focus only on your strong areas and strengthen it even further. Make sure all your concepts are clear and you know all the important formulas.
    • Mock tests are a great way to improve speed and accuracy for competitive exams. Solve one mock test every day for the remaining days before JEE Advanced 2020 exam. While attempting the test, it is important to replicate a real exam scenario. After the exam, analyse your mistakes and learn from them.
    • In the remaining days before the JEE Advanced 2020 exam, try getting enough sleep. A sound sleep of 8 hours especially the night before the exam day is essential to perform energetically in the exam.
    • Last but not the least, the last few days before the exam are crucial and usually stressful. It is important to stay positive and have faith in your abilities.
