Much awaited exam timeline for (JEE) Advanced 2021 is finally out. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced 03rd July to be the date of the exam for JEE Advanced 2021 on Thursday. The minister revealed the details in a tweet on the said day. JEE Advanced exam is held once a year for admission to undergraduate Engineering programmes to 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country.
The organizing body for JEE Advanced 2021 will be IIT Kharagpur which is one of the seven zonal IITs. The entire process will be monitored by the Joint Examination Board. As per the announcement, catering to students’ demands like last year (in view of COVID-19) 75 percent eligibility criteria has also been disregarded. However, students must first qualify in JEE Main and will have to pass their Board Exams.
FOUR IMPORTANT UPDATES
- JEE Advanced 2021 will be conducted on 03rd July. This will give more time for the candidates to prepare for the exam.
- JEE Main 2020 qualified candidates who could not appear in the 2nd stage of the exam can sit for the JEE Advanced 2021 exam directly
- The minimum marks eligibility criteria, i.e 75% eligibility condition has been removed like last year.
- JEE Advanced 2021 will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur.
“Like last year, this year too we have removed the minimum 75% marks (aggregate in XII class) criteria for appearing in the JEE Advanced examination, as it will allow more candidates to take the test. This year the IIT-Kharagpur will conduct the test on July 3, 2021”, is what the education minister Pokhriyal put out on Twitter.
As per the earlier announcement by the minister, JEE Main 2021 will be held in four sessions from 2021 with the first session scheduled to take place in February. Registration for the exam is going on at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
