Don’t you think smartphones have changed the lives of today’s generation completely?

With the easy access to the mobile phones with round-the-clock internet connectivity, lives have definitely changed. Now people prefer talking through texts even when sitting next to each other. We can lie, but not the facts, which say that around 15 per cent of people in the age group of 16-24-year prefer texting over talking. As per a mobility poll conducted by TIME magazine, 32 per cent of the respondents said that if given a choice, they will choose text as the communication medium than calling up directly.

Now another question here is, “Is digital learning suitable for this mute generation that prefers texting to talking?”

No doubt digital learning is a blessing for the generation that spends more time on the internet. Mobile, tablets, and laptops are not choices but like a necessity for them. Smartphones, YouTube, Netflix, Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram have become a part of daily life. Now, this digitally active generation will definitely like to study online. If given a choice, they would opt for online courses over classroom courses. Digital learning allows students to learn at a pace they are comfortable with. Additionally, parents are also not bound to visit the schools and meet the teachers to gain insights into their kids’ achievements and problems.

There are a number of reasons to prove that digital learning through online courses is a right option for tech-savvy students.

    Immediate Answers

A generation that doesn’t have the patience to wait for days to get an answer to their questions in the class loves digital resources. There is so much information available on the internet that they can get an answer to any question immediately and that too from experts.

    Selective Information

Though there is unlimited information available on the internet, students are completely free to decide what they want to explore. This is another reason making online learning a right choice for them. Even when buying recorded lectures online, they have complete freedom to pick the subjects or topics they want to study.

    Visual Mediums

Learning through apps, computer programmes, live videos and recorded lectures bring the curriculum to life for the students who consider learning from textbooks boring. The major benefit of learning through a visual medium is that students find it easy to retain the information.

    Learning at Own Pace

Another benefit of online learning is that it allows students to study at their own pace and in their own way. This flexibility also lets students develop their own learning styles to retain the information for longer.

    Time-Saving

Online courses help students attend the classes from the comfort of their home. It saves precious time spent on traveling to attend the traditional classes. In cities with a lot of traffic or coaching institutes at far away distance, digital learning through live online classes is always a preferred choice among students.

    Unlimited Practice

When it comes to preparing for exams and solving test papers, nothing is less. Students can solve as many sample papers as they want. Through digital learning, they get access to innumerable mock tests, sample papers and previous year question papers to strengthen their exam preparation.

    Easy-to-use Mobile Apps

From early literacy and numeracy skills for young kids to advanced study material for the student preparing for difficult competitive exams like NEET/ JEE, there are hundreds of mobile applications for digital learning. Students can simply download the app in their mobile phones and start learning as per their convenience.

    Final Thoughts

The internet and digital learning resources can be productive for students if used wisely. With proper assistance and selection of right online courses, students can get a digital edge and become tomorrow’s leader.  The best part of digital learning is that it is not limited to any specific subject or course. From regular exam preparation to live online coaching for competitive exams for medical and engineering, students can find everything on the internet to get a digital edge.

Today’s tech-savvy students are smart enough to decide what is right for them. They know how to maintain a right balance between learning and entertainment when exploring the digital resources, which means digital learning, is no doubt a suitable choice for the generation that prefers texting over talking.
