Competitive exams like NEET require months of preparation and with the level of competition today, one cannot afford to make silly mistakes. While all of us fret about the syllabus & main exam, we forget to pay attention to the common mistakes which are made by students while preparing for exams like NEET. We have listed a few mistakes which you should try and avoid:
Not paying attention to class XI syllabus
If you have just started preparing for Medical entrance exams, it’s a good time for you to start building the foundation of your preparation with Class XI syllabus. Why? Because a good foundation will help give clarity to your concept which is an integral part of your preparation.
Not taking enough tests
Even though everyone has access to free sample papers and question papers, students avoid taking mock tests out of sheer laziness. Mock tests help you understand the importance of time management, the kind of questions, your weak areas and also help in boosting your confidence.
Avoiding difficult questions
Just because you avoid difficult questions while preparing, doesn’t mean that they would not be a part of the exam. Difficult questions should not be avoided and in fact, you should work up on mastering them.
Disturbing your sleeping pattern
It’s okay to study all night or wake up early in the morning to study when you are preparing. But you must try to get your sleep pattern back to normal a few days before the exam. Having a sleepless night just before your exam can hamper your concentration during the exam. This is definitely one of the most common mistakes made by students.
Discussing the syllabus just before the paper
Discussing questions with your friends just before the paper will shake your confidence, confuse you and you will end up panicking. Avoid doing this and have faith in your preparation.
Skipping long questions
During your preparation, avoid being lazy and solve the long questions. You might feel that you know everything but you can never be too sure. There are thousands of people preparing for the same exam & you need to ensure that your preparation is as good as theirs if not better.
Doubting yourself and your preparation
You must have confidence in what you have studied and what you know. If you have worked really hard and have been dedicated, you will definitely achieve success. Doubting yourself is never a good idea as it only affects your confidence.
